Office of Periodic Review, Assessment, and Accreditation Support (OPRAAS)
UC Merced Accreditation Liaison Officer
Assessment role: Reporting to the chief of staff of the executive vice chancellor and provost, the director directs the Office of Periodic Review, Assesssment, and Accreditation Support (OPRAAS). He/she also provides leadership and campus-wide coordination and support for annual assessment and periodic review processes, academic and administrative, through his/her work as the convener of the Campus Working Group on Assessment and the Committee for the Review of PLO Reports and as a member of the Program Review Oversight Committee, Graduate Council, and the General Education Subcommittee of Undergraduate Council. As the campus's accreditation liaison officer, the director ensures UC Merced meets accreditation expectations and is compliant with all accreditation policies, including requirements for substantive change.
Program Review Manager & PROC Analyst
Assessment role: On behalf of PROC, Kerry is the lead facilitator of the periodic program review process for academic programs and administrative units, providing process expertise, related resources, and logistical support. She conducts this work in partnership with the Academic Senate Office and with the staff and faculty of the units undergoing review. As the PROC analyst, Kerry is the support staff for PROC, with responsibility for managing the committee's business and workflow.
Substantive Change & Graduate Assessment Coordinator
Assessment role: Supports faculty with their graduate-level assessment needs including Coordinating Committee on Graduate Affairs (CCGA) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WSCUC) proposal preparation, annual assessment, and periodic review and also manages the campus' accreditation needs related to substantive change.

Assessment role: Among her responsibilities in the Center for Research on Teaching Excellence, Adriana coordinates the Students Assessing Teaching and Learning Program (SATAL). This program helps faculty, teaching assistants, co-curricular programs and academic support units gain a better sense of their students' learning experiences.

Emily Langdon, Ph.D.
Coordinator for Assessment, Evaluation & Research
Assessment role: Through her 50 percent-time appointment, Emily facilitates annual assessment, program review and assessment-related capacity building in the Division of Student Affairs. Emily works with the “A Team” to strengthen the Division’s culture of assessment in support of student learning and success.

Principle Research Analyst
Assessment role: Institutional Research and Decision Support (IRDS) summarizes data for program reviews; conducts faculty workload analyses; analyzes student retention, graduation, academic achievement and other student-success-related measures; generates models projecting student and faculty growth to facilitate budget and space planning; identifies potential peer institutions; gathers benchmarking indicators; conducts cross-institutional comparisons; coordinates and administers most campus surveys; manages historical data about students, faculty and staff; and coordinates development of the campuswide data warehouse and business intelligence (Cognos) environment. As the keeper of official data, IRDS provides technical support about how to use and interpret data, and ensure compliance with federal, state and University of California data confidentiality regulations. IRDS's primary role is to support -- rather than conduct -- assessment.
Sara Davidson, MLIS
Head, User Communication & Instruction
Assessment role: Sara tracks and assesses the impact of library services in relation to student-learning and library-service objectives. She uses a variety of tools, including surveys, focus groups, and the Student Assessing Teaching and Learning program. Sara actively seeks opportunities to collaborate with campus partners in gathering evidence of student learning outcomes relevant to the library’s goals for undergraduate and graduate information literacy.

School of Engineering
Assessment role: Working closely with the associate dean of the School of Engineering, Corinne coordinates and facilitates program assessment, program review and program ABET accreditation efforts. He/she assists program faculty in developing sustainable assessment strategies including methods for collecting and assessing student learning, such as surveys.
School of Natural Sciences
Amy Moffat, Ph.D.

Assessment role: Amy supports the annual assessment and periodic review efforts of the school's academic and administrative units, providing assessment advice and data reports. She reviews proposals for new courses for content coherency in support of a programmatic approach to curriculum and assessment. Amy participates in a number of assessment working groups including the Committee to Review PLO Reports, Campus Working Group on Assessment, and the Digital Assessment Working Group.

Assessment role: Stephan supports the annual assessment and periodic review efforts of the school's academic and administrative units, providing assessment advice and data reports, including analyses of administrative workloads for the School's academic support offices. He reviews proposals for new programs and courses for content coherency in support of a programmatic approach to curriculum and assessment. He provides data reports for faculty and administrative requests. Stephan participates in a number of assessment working groups including the Committee to Review PLO Reports, Campus Working Group on Assessment, and the Digital Assessment Working Group.
