The Office of Periodic Review, Assessment, and Accreditation Support (OPRAAS)

OPRAAS' Mission*

The Office of Periodic Review, Assessment, and Accreditation Support (OPRAAS) advances assessment as an essential component of evidence-informed and institutionally-aligned planning and decision making at UC Merced. To this end, OPRAAS provides assessment-related expertise, guidance, and analytic and administrative support to campus leadership - Senate and administrative- including the Periodic Review Oversight Committee (PROC). On behalf of PROC, OPRAAS coordinates the annual and periodic assessment processes of academic and administrative units, offering expertise, resources, and administrative support designed to enable continuous improvement in student learning and success, teaching, research and service. Consistent with this support for the practices of an educationally effective, learning organization, OPRAAS manages UC Merced’s accreditation by the WASC Senior College and University Commission.  In achieving its mission, OPRAAS is guided by UC Merced’s values, as embodied by the campus’ mission,  the UC Merced Principles of Assessment, and our commitment to shared governance.
